Yesterday William Easterly wrote on his blog about the American Human Development Project. The Project is trying to create metrics using factors besides GDP to determine the state of development in the United States. They have already created an American Human Development Index as an alternative measure.
Mrs. Kane's presentation about health in the United States made me think about this map. I'd be interested to know what others thought about these metrics.

I would absolutely love to talk to somebody who's gone through it. I have it in both feet, and honestly it's tough keeping it together. And I've gotten two different diagnoses at these point... great haha.
